ACTION: Call the White House. Tell President Bush to "Get with the Program" on Global Warming!

Leaders of some of the world’s most powerful nations are ready to take action on global warming.

Bush_G8Members of the Group of Eight (G8) meeting this week in Germany want to stop earth’s temperature from rising past the climate tipping point. But – once again - opposition from President Bush is holding things up.

It’s time for the U.S. to step up on climate change, and we need your help. Tell President Bush to get with the program!

White House Switchboard: 202-456-1414

YOU CAN USE THIS SCRIPT WHEN CALLING THE WHITE HOUSE:

YOU: Hello, my name is (name) and I live in (hometown). I’m calling because I want President Bush to work with our partners at the G8 to stop global warming before earth passes the climate tipping point. The president’s opposition to this common goal is straining our relationships with key allies, holding up international climate negotiations, and endangering the lives of people around the world.

ASSISTANT: [He/She will either state the president’s position or volunteer to pass along your views.]

YOU: Thanks. Please let the president know I’ll be keeping track of his stance on this issue.
