Take Action by Dec. 5 for a Greater International Affairs Budget

Urge Congress to support a robust International Affairs Budget for FY10!

Immediate Action Needed

Deadline Extended on FY10 Letters Supporting a Robust International Affairs Budget

Final Days to Increase Support

December 3, 2008

We need your help! Now that the election is over, Congressional leaders and President-elect Obama's transition team are identifying priorities for next year. President-elect Obama has presented bold, far-reaching proposals to elevate and strengthen development programs, international institutions and diplomacy, including doubling U.S. foreign assistance. Congressional letters in support of a robust FY10 International Affairs Budget are currently circulating and it is important that we demonstrate bipartisan support.. 45 Senators and 128 Representatives have already signed on. Unfortunately one of your senators has not and the deadline is this Friday. Urge YOUR Senator to add their name to this important letter. The letter will be sent to President-elect Obama as his transition team begins to craft their FY10 Budget request.

Over the next three days, we will concentrate on the following priority Senators, who have yet to sign the letter.

Priority Senators:

  • Evan Bayh (D-IN)
  • Maria Cantwell (D-WA)
  • Thomas Carper (D-DE)
  • Byron Dorgan (D-ND)
  • Tim Johnson (D-SD)
  • Blanche Lincoln (D-AR)
  • Claire McCaskill (D-MO)
  • Ben Nelson (D-NE)
  • Bill Nelson (D-FL)
  • Jay Rockefeller (D-WV)
  • Ken Salazar (D-CO)
  • Jon Tester (D-MT)
  • Jim Webb (D-VA)
  • Ron Wyden (D-OR)

Act now and urge your Senator to support a healthy International Affairs Budget by signing on!
