+ Back to Fall 2009 Newsletter Main Page

Maureen Howard

Maureen joined Citizens for Global Solutions as the Development Coordinator in July. She is delighted to be part of an organization at the crossroads of many issues she studied as a Political Science and International Peace Studies major at the University of Notre Dame. As Development Coordinator, Maureen manages donor relations, contributions, and foundation grants.

Maureen brings to Citizens for Global Solutions her experience working and researching abroad. She interned in Uganda for the African Network for the Prevention and Protection Against Child Abuse and Neglect and later returned to Uganda to conduct research for her senior thesis. While studying in London for a semester, Maureen interned in the British Parliament.

"Through my experiences abroad, I discovered that I want to work toward positive U.S. engagement in a world very much in need of international cooperation. I am thrilled to be generating support for an organization that shares my vision and mission," Maureen says.

Abigail Long

We are pleased to announce Abigail Long's promotion to Programs Coordinator. Abby joined Citizens for Global Solutions in January as an intern and then rose to become the Edward Rawson Program Fellow, holding a fellowship named after our long-time board member and supporter Edward Rawson.

As Programs Coordinator, Abby manages CGS's different policy issue areas.

"I'm excited to become even more involved in our issue areas. I hope to increase our visibility and work toward U.S. support of the Convention for the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Law of the Sea, and the International Criminal Court."
